Under the new banner the company is offering an increased level of proven, focused and professional service in the development of marketing, media and lobbying campaigns that have been successfully utilised by a diverse base of clients across a broad industry cross section.

Projects for which the team at Millers have become known range from corporate brand positioning, brand awareness and product promotion to issues management and damage control for privately and publicly listed companies, industry based organisations, charities, corporate entities, employment groups and government. The Miller Communications Group brings together some of the country’s most experienced communicators and lobbyists, marries them to a group of selected and proven specialists who work with the MCG team to ensure results for clients.

Mark Miller: Director Mark Miller is a specialist with a unique blend of mainstream media, corporate, government and lobbying experience that builds onto his journalist background and positions him as a leader in dealing with Media, Government, Statutory Authorities, Industry Bodies and the Not for Profit sector. He is a Journalist of renown with extensive media experience and more than 25 years experience in the conceptualisation and implementation of unique communications and marketing programs.

During his over 35 years in the media, image and marketing industries he has developed an enviable list of achievements. His ability with strategy development and program action has seen him plan and work on some of the most historic campaigns and issues management programs undertaken in Australia. His devotion to workable and cost effective solutions is now legendary in many sectors of business, government, politics and the community. Coupled to his own experience is a legacy of media involvement which stems back before the advent of Television in Australia and continues today. His unique family heritage begins with his parents, his father having worked for the George Patterson’s agency in the 1960s, writing amongst other pieces, the Australian iconic VB’s beer advertisement, his mother’s involvement in media, his brother’s on-going involvement and the move of his son in to the business marks the third generation of Millers to work in and on media. In effect, Mark has been ensconced in the always fickle and fast changing media and commercial communications industries for all of his life. Such experience has equipped him with vital contacts; a deep understanding of communications requirements and marketing know how which can only be achieved by living it.

His Journalistic training, experience as a commercial copy writer and as a government strategist, positions him well as one of the country’s most experienced consultants. In fact the evolution of the Miller Communications Group over the past thirty years under Mark’s stewardship creates one of the East Coasts’ longest running communications, media image and marketing companies. It is a history that dictates the ethos of the business and means success focused outcomes for a client base.

John Miller: Key Strategist and Campaign Planner/Producer:
John Miller is one of Australia’s leading commentators with an illustrious career in Journalism, winning
Local National and International acclaim and numerous Awards. John re-joins the family business in the position of Key Strategist and campaign planner to bring to the Miller Communications Group a unique level of creative insight and political awareness.

John’s ability to “read” an audience, a potential customer for clients, a politician or a situation is evidenced by the number of Awards his various documentary and Current Affairs Shows have achieved. Congratulated and thanked by Prime Ministers, Industry giants, Awarded with the Centenary of Federation Medal for services to media and the community, his near two score of media experience has played no small part in revolutionising the industry in Australia. His expertise, advice and input will now be available to MCG clients.

MAINSTREAM MEDIA
Using media editorial or mainstream news, the Miller Communications Group:
• Raises corporate identity and profile.
• Creates markets where none previously existed.
• Places social issues on the public agenda.
• Promotes products.
• Develops goodwill for corporations and associations in the media; and
• Gives corporations and associations a position of strength with Government at all levels.

GOVERNMENT LIAISON
The Miller Communications Group has continued to expand its work in the field of government liaison on the environment, health, disability services and economic areas. In the past few years the company has worked on numerous campaigns ranging from assisting troubled financial institutions, through to working with government on community consultation projects. As government continues to reach a position of understanding as to the needs and wants of the community, it becomes increasingly important for any organisation to be able to liaise in both directions and on behalf of both government and the community. It is at this level of fusing the two together that the Miller Communications Group has had enormous success and will continue to develop unique strategies to suit the social agenda of our time.

EVENTS AND PROMOTION

The Miller Communications Group believes astute organisation and the correct mix of timing and planning is absolutely necessary to ensure the smooth running and success of any event or promotion.
These elements are not only vital in the co-ordination of stand alone events, such as field days and rock
concerts, but also such meticulous planning is vital when organising trade shows and community liaison. Knowing how the cards need to be stacked is a specialist job and the team at the Miller Communications Group, through their wide range of experience in this field, can co-ordinate any promotion or event, and provide the necessary input and knowledge to ensure its success. The Miller Communications Group’s co-ordination of such promotions as Queensland’s Best Meat Pie Competition, Sharpz Needle Kits, “Apples Without Alar” and Glaucoma Awareness, clearly validates these claims and provides the direction for continued success. In addition, the siteing of a nuclear waste storage facility on behalf of Kevin Rudd and the Goss Government necessitated extensive public meetings and consultation before achieving its final approval.

MARKET RESEARCH

The Miller Communications Group has worked with a range of specialist companies in the past and would contract out this important facet to the most appropriate supplier of market research services as required for the campaign.
